Terms of Service

1. What PlateParse is

PlateParse is an informational tool. It estimates the nutritional content of a meal from a photograph, generates recipe suggestions from ingredients you list, and keeps a personal log of entries you choose to record.

2. Not medical advice

This is the clause that matters most. PlateParse does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or health condition, and nothing it produces should be read as medical advice, a diagnosis, or a clinical recommendation.

The output is an estimate generated from a photograph and from public reference data. It can be wrong, sometimes substantially. Weight is inferred from visual appearance; hidden oil, sugar, starch and sauces are the largest sources of error.

Always consult a qualified health professional before making changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, managing a medical condition, taking medication, or restricting your intake for any reason. Do not use PlateParse to make clinical decisions.

3. Not a substitute for professional judgement

PlateParse is a tool for general reference. A qualified dietitian, doctor or other professional has access to your full history, laboratory results and medical history, and none of which this tool sees.

We rate-limit and validate every AI request server-side. Attempts to bypass these controls may result in suspension without refund.

8. Intellectual property

The PlateParse software, design and branding belong to us. You own your photographs and the data in your log, and you may export it at any time.

9. Third-party services

We use third parties to provide image understanding, hosting, databases and payments. Their services are subject to their own terms, and we do not control or warrant them.

10. Availability

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlateParse is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the output of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which our company is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
